Countdown to Cyber Monday: Daily Tip 3

This time next week some of the big-box retailers will be opening their doors for Thanksgiving shoppers!  For online retailers, however, you'll be open for business ALL DAY!  

Make the most of that time by being certain to bid properly. 

Tip # 3: Bid Up Early and Often

The holiday shopping season starts earlier and earlier every year, and in order to capture as much revenue as possible this year it’s critical that you increase your keyword bids before the holiday traffic ramps up.  As the chart below indicates, last year on November 13th revenue was already up close to 20% and costs were only up 7%, indicating that your bidding strategy should be in place before Black Friday.

It’s better to be proactive than reactive during this time of the year. You should consider intra-day bids on important dates such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday to make the most of these popular shopping days.

Bonus Tip: Bidding up can be painful to your wallet, so it’s important to budget wisely. Ad spend is likely to increase by 2-3X, so make sure your campaign budget is greater than what you expect to spend.
